The 25th Moonlit Tea Ceremony: Exhibition of Tea Utensils

Overview
It has been a hot summer.

Even though Japan's seasons are changing, the insects are playing autumn music and the moon is shining high in the sky.

It is time for Ippodo's annual "Moonlit Night Tea Ceremony" exhibition of tea ceremony utensils.

The theme of this year's exhibition is "Dreams".

This is the theme of next year's poetry festival.

In Japan, dreams are ephemeral, as in "Butterfly's dream", while in the USA, dreams are powerful hope, as in Dr Martin Luther King's famous phrase, "I have a dream".

What dreams did Sen no Rikyu and other tea masters of the past have for the tea ceremony?

Urasenke Grand Master Hounsai advocated "Peacefulness from a single tea bowl" and appealed for peace.

Chanoyu, tea ceremony, tea room, tea bowls, tea utensils. ...... Please come and find peace.
